«Personality/AU Information» Erika isn't a very nice person! In canon she's a whole lot worse because of various events but the long and short of it is that she's the kind of person who uses her intelligence to make people feel awful so that she feels better. She's a pretty lonely person due to it and right now she's getting over a very nasty break-up where she thought her boyfriend was cheating on her and went...overboard trying to prove it. That happens in canon but before the events of canon so that's most of her AU.

So basically expect her to be smiling while thinking your character is stupid but she is quite capable of caring about others. She just hates the world around her before it can get to her. So yeah!

Also her AU incorporates Rika from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni as her little sister which...if you know the canons is pretty funny but without being tldr or spoilery, they look a lot alike with reason.
«Plans for character(s)» I WANT ERIKA TO GO AFTER THE COW. Yep I have great goals here. No but really Erika is going to try to level some because screw hope, she's going to survive. She'll stick around town for safety while gaining levels though.

I really am sending her after that cow though if anyone is interested in cow adventures.
«CR you would like» I'm totally cool with positive and negative CR. I really just want to see where she goes. She's currently in a fragile state where she's not sure what to believe about people and is more likely to push them away. But I'd love it if someone did manage to strike up friendship with her and warm her back up. That said, her personality can be pretty grating, so negative CR is pretty fun for threading, too, especially if they're stuck together for some reason.

«Personality/AU Information» A bright, spirited kid who in her AU persona wants to impress well upon others in a typical way despite having an interesting but unglamorous real life.
«Plans for character(s)» She's going to be quietly panicking for a while, but will eventually - cautiously - venture back out into the starting areas and begin playing for real. As she regains her confidence, she'll approach the game more enthusiastically, but will focus more on building her game persona and taking this chance to live a fantasy than on seriously training to fight.

AND THEN...there's my Long-Term Plan. Details in a comment under this one so that it can collapse when the page gets bigger instead of taking up a bunch of space.

- Older friends or mentor figures, who Sapphire takes to like a moth to light (and also would help to speed up her getting-out-of-the-starting-city process)
- Petty negative CR - light on negative drama to start off with, but insignificant conflicts are easy for young kids to blow out of proportion and make for funny and interesting motivations.
- Buddies in general. Unhelpful as a statement, but true.

THE LONG-TERM PLAN.

See, in canon, Sapphire starts out awfully different in external personality from how she is in this AU, and it's due to an Incident in her childhood that's very difficult to replicate in a real-world setting. This same Incident, however, translates perfectly to the setting of SAO. Details in smalltext.

At some point I want to recreate this Incident, which would go like this in SAO: Sapphire and stronger friend are goofing around in a supposedly safe area. A motherfucking dragon shows up as part of an unexpected event, and stronger friend is the only one properly equipped to fight it. Stronger friend fights to defend Sapphire, who knows it's unsafe to charge in and has no flippin' clue what to do but shrink back and watch. Stronger friend eventually kills the dragon, but is severely injured (or even killed, though this would be a tricky thing to pull off for...obvious reasons and is thus an opportunity option)

An event like this would cause Sapphire to head towards where her external personality is in canon, and I'd love to be able to play this out if possible. This being a Long-Term-Plan, I'm definitely not looking for a committed participant right this instant, but I thought I'd throw it up here since I've pretty much solidified the plan.

«Personality/AU Information» Izaya is interested in all humanity and loves it unconditionally. Also, he's an awful person. Basically, Izaya was a kid who went to the back of movie theatres so he could watch everyone else watching the show. He took his interest in watching humans too far and became a crazy trolling jerkass who ruined lives for fun because he "just wants to see."

Overall, he's very mercurial. He can be very friendly and personable when he wants to be, and he's really gregarious and sociable. But he also likes screwing with people's heads and spouting off insane troll logic philosophy that is full of holes and yet impossible to argue, so he's not the easiest to get along with.

AU-wise, he is pretty canon except bumped up a few years and without headless fairies and cursed swords.
«Plans for character(s)» Basically, Izaya is going to keep on keeping on: he wants to observe humanity and gather information (which is also how he intends on making a living).

And he'll avoid doing anything that would get him locked out of cities, because no, he loves cities. That's where the humans are.
«CR you would like» All of it. Izaya likes to get people working for him gathering information, and he likes to get marks that he can put through horrible situations that test them to see what kind of person they are or how strong their resolves are, so if you are interested in that, don't hesitate to drop a line! If someone manages to get almost companionable CR with him, that person would be a miracle, and I would welcome them. Since he loves every kind of human, I'm up for every kind of CR.

«Personality/AU Information» If you know .hack, he is basically the same as canon from the very start of Infection :Ia AUING MMO CHARACTERS IS SO EASY wow. For those less familiar with .hack, basically he is ultra nice and polite and helpful to an almost disturbing degree. You cannot make Kite hate you, it's just not possible. Even if you like, straight up murdered someone in front of him he'd be mad but then he'd help you out and be your friend anyway.
SLIGHTLY IMPORTANT AU THINGS?? His bff Orca was a high-ranking beta tester in terms of being awesome at MMOs. He is also currently AWOL, but if your character was also a beta tester they might recognize the name if you want.
«Plans for character» Kite is going to start looking for Orca after the tutorial goes down, which means he'll be wandering around town and eventually heading for the next town over. He'll also be doing EVERY QUEST and helping EVERY PLAYER he meets along the way, so yes.
«CR you would like» He will make friends with literally everyone. This is my quest. Seriously. I will have all of your CR and there is no escape. He is p much incapable of thinking badly of anyone, so if you have a character that's really hard to get along with but you want positive CR anyway Kite is your guy.

«Character» Eve/codequeen (Elsword), who will be going as EVE with all caps. I am so creative.
«Personality/AU Information» SOCIALLY AWKWARD TO THE MAX wow, she gets nervous really easily around people. She's very articulate and logical though, and blunt. Also an amateur inventor/programmer because robots are awesome. She'll be spending a lot of her time just watching NPCs and monsters because the AI interests her.
«Plans for character» Eve is going to be extremely passive for a good long while, stalking NPCs for her research (as was her original plan with SAO) and avoiding fighting as much as possible. She doesn't like getting her hands dirty. She'll probably stay close to the starting area since her level won't be going up too quickly, so yeah OVERALL? Not too concerned about the whole trapped in a game thing.
«CR you would like» She will cling to anyone who is nice so 8V but someone to bail her out of monsterstalking gone wrong would be nice.

«Personality/AU Information» Sol is uhhhh an enormous jackoff LOL But usually not the sort to actively pick fights unless he's interested somehow, just more of the 'unmoving brick wall of screw you' type. He's very very lazy. Expect him to be utterly belligerent, grate on nerves, and generally be the loner jerk guy that you don't like and doesn't like you.

In this AU (for those canon-familiar), he's going to be a lot less burnt-out of a person than Sol is because he's still Frederick, so he's just a grumpy jerkish lump instead of a screwed up shell of a former man that's just waiting to die... yeah. He's also very MMO-prolific, so other characters who play in lots of MMO's may know of him, he's a bit notorious for his bad attitude and bad sportsmanship. And also for a certain noodle incident that no one else has ever quite been able to piece together with that one kid, Ky Kiske.

«Plans for character(s)» He'll probably stick around the Starting City for a bit. Directly after Kayaba's announcement an incident will occur that will traumatize him (spoilers he kills Justice his girlfriend Aria, by accident), but being the type of person he is, his way of taking that stress and guilt out will be to shut down emotionally and go into the field to start killing monsters.
After that he's going to be a severely solo beater; he probably won't be very willing to collaborate with other users even in boss-fights (as in, he'll play along, but he won't make any friends over it and he'll be totally willing to grab for a kill). However, there are certain ways to chip at the brick wall that is Sol, some of which will involve his canonmate :P

«CR you would like» I would love antagonizers, either malevolently so or in a friendly manner- like if you have a character that is just darn determined to crack through that shell and see the good in him- go for it. He's a tough nut to crack but not nearly as much so as in canon.

«Personality/AU Information» For the most part, a very polite, driven, justice-y young man! With a fair passive-aggressive side and the inability to let go of a grudge and no real understanding of any sort of morality besides BAD GUYS ARE BAD and not too good in social situations. He feels the need to tell people when he's making a joke. He likes playing hero and takes himself super seriously.

Thing to note for this AU is that he's slightly infamous in the MMO world for appearing to make annoying PSAs about one particular person, to the point where most people have come to expect his inevitable arrival with eyerolls and groans.
«Plans for character(s)» He is going to be doing ALL THE QUESTS because he'd like to be clearing the floors but he needs to make sure people are okay first! He'll also probably get groups of people together to grind so he can make sure everyone's leveling up. I'd love for him to eventually join some Guilds and shit as a parallel to canon armies. He'll also be trying to keep everyone's hopes up while assuring them that justice will be served! And then he'll feel guilty for having fun playing knight when people are actually dying.

«Personality/AU Information» For a full rundown of her personality and AU. For those familiar with her series, both her personality and background is a mixture of the main Higurashi (BEFORE LEARNING THE POWER OF MIRACLES AND BREAKING FATE) series and the "what-if" world from Higurashi Rei.

Anyway, Rika's an eleven-year-old girl. She shouldn't even be playing SAO! She lied about her age and will initially turn up in-game using an older-looking avatar... until the mirror item takes effect. Rika's usually pretty nice, cute, and talks... way younger sometimes. She's also rather spoiled and dependent on others. She uses cutesy verbal tics and goes "mii" (kitten mew), "nipa", and describes situations with sounds, sometimes. Like she'll say "pachi pachi/clap clap" while clapping her hands together.

All that cute stuff is really a mask (and she is capable of talking normally. Haha.) and she's actually pretty depressed and lonely because a lot of her friends in the real world moved away. Weh.

Oh and... Erika from Umineko is her big sister in this AU. They look alike!

«Plans for character(s)» She'll leave the Starting City to level as long as she has people to party with. She won't risk her life going after the boss though. Rika wants to play it safe.

I might have her win a Cooking Set and maybe go watch Erika chase a cow.
«CR you would like» I'm fine with any CR! Positive or negative. She misses her old friends! People can try to befriend her. She'll act nice because she doesn't want to make enemies, but it may take her some time to genuinely accept a new person as her friend.

«Personality/AU Information» TAKUMI IS THE BIGGEST LOSER and he's completely inept at like, everything including social interaction. He's pretty much an MMO god (in his own eyes anyway) and maxed his level at the game he played previously (under the same handle). But now that he physically exists inside the virtual world, he's just as crippled as he is in the real world. He might need a little... help.

«Plans for character(s)» Takumi is the type to um... cry. And wait for rescue. It takes a lot for him to work up the courage to even take a literal first step towards anything dangerous, and he would probably need convincing to even try it. He doesn't really like dealing with other people, but at the same time, he's really going to need them in order to get anywhere.

... So basically, I have no plans because I guess it depends entirely on who Takumi might run into and what they might be able to convince him to do.

«CR you would like» Definitely any kind! Positive and negative is great, and JUST A WARNING, but Takumi is like really judgmental (even though there's no one more worthy of being judged than him and he knows it) so unless a character is completely catering to his every need, things will probably start on the more negative side. 9_9;;

TAICHI
«Personality/AU Information» Taichi is a total newbie to MMOs! And probably video games of any kind, so this will be a learning experience all over. He has a more reserved personality, but he is extremely willing to help out anyone in need, no matter what the danger is. He's generally pretty calm about things and has an optimistic outlook, and he is friendly and considerate of others so basically he is an apology for Takumi.

«Plans for character(s)» He will try to level! And learn more about the world to see what it is he has to work with and to try to get a clearer vision of how to reach the goal. He's definitely going to be concerned about clearing the game and returning home, but he wants to protect as many of the players along the way that he can, too.

«CR you would like» Again, anything! I am new to playing him so I'm not too sure about any specific types that would get along neat or anything, and I just want to play with everyone, so yeah ;w;//

«Personality/AU Information» A shy, cute fourteen-year-old pushover with low self-esteem. Like, the only thing she is good at is being cute. A victim of bullying, she decided to play this game to vicariously live through it. It's her first time playing an MMORPG! Most of the time, she reads books, watches TV and plays games on handhelds... It's hard to get to know her since she is so shy, but if your character is nice enough to her, she might start opening up to them.

...and get attached and give them a nickname or call them onii-chan.

Her handle is simply Nadeko, and she refers to herself in the third person. Her avatar is just her with green hair. She will always be seen wearing a hat.

«Plans for character(s)» After staying in the Starting City for a week to make preparations and whatnot, she will try to be a solo player since she's not very good at talking to others. She'll look very scared while doing it, though. So I want someone to help her soon!

I also plan on making her do the Sunny Side-Up event and fail at it. I want her to chase cows too! As for the rest of the quests, she definitely do them alone if she level grinds. It'd be nice to have someone along for them.
«CR you would like» Both positive and negative CR would be great! Everyone in canon hates Nadeko, so I kind of want the same here? Of course, I also want her to get a few friends who will help her out... More girls her age, perhaps? Maybe even an older brother/sister figure whom she can admire.

«Personality/AU Information» She is the living worst basically. I mean, she calls herself a tsundere, isn't that like a warning flag right off? General first impression would be the aloof ojou-type blah blah secrets behind her cold exterior blah blah except Hitagi's exterior is like absolute zero and well-defended like she's ready for siege, like i will set my own fields on fire so you can't use them, you invader and also i will stick sharp things in your mouth until you go away. If you manage to get past that, it's all dere all the time right? Unfortunately no. Talking to her is like hitting "I feel lucky!" on a randomized kuu/yan/tsun/troll -dere generator. You will never be lucky. You may be accused of being a murderous lover of nubile young women or she might tell you she likes you. WHICH IS WORSE???

As for AU she's basically your modern-day Japanese teenager, experienced some rough stuff in her past. In her canon she lost her emotions due to supernatural shenanigans so I'm playing that out as Hitagi being emotionally disconnected and whatnot. She's not a gamer; she was just checking out how FullDive tech works for other reasons.

As per above, she's not a gamer but she's reasonably aware of pop culture stuff so she'd have some idea of how these games work. She'd know that she's not really equipped as far as knowledge-wise to deal with things so she'd stick it out in the Starting City, observe how people do things and work it out on her own. She'd level up by soloing! She wouldn't be averse to joining a party as long as she can be sure that people won't pry into her business... I don't think she'd ever be a frontliner but she'd fight if the numbers are needed.

She'll probably try to do every available quest but I'd specifically like to play out «Lost Item» and «Road Block» eventually.

I want her to open a shop with like something related to books eventually. idk i am still working on it

She used to be the caring senpai type (SHE'D HAVE NOTICED YOU) so when she's not being psychotically awful over trying to protect her secrets, she's... not... no ok well really she's hideous but if people really need help, she would. She'd just make you regret it....... It's canon for her to like the kind people, like someone who'd help out other people even if they got hurt in the process. «Personality/AU Information» Instead of being a clone created by an evil organization she is the adoptive child of extremely horrible parents. But she's mostly the same as in canon. Shy, friendly, and a little fragile. She won't be against making friends, but it might take her a while to start acting natural and comfortably around others. That happens when you're alone and terrified. But she's also very selfless, even to strangers, so if you're in trouble, you might find the quiet girl running to your side to help you out.

«Plans for character(s)» She will likely spend a bit freaking out and not knowing what exactly to do. There will be a bit of panic but it probably won't take too long for her to work up the resolve to start doing some hard adventuring in the hopes of getting back home! She'll be a tad shy, but will be willing to party it up with just about anybody, and won't be afraid to fight for herself and others.

«CR you would like» I want it all! Friends, enemies, frenemies...She'll be starting out a bit lost and lonely, so I hope she can form some bonds that will be able to help her keep going in this crazy videogame!

«Plans for character» She'll be leaving the Starting City from the get go since she's not one to sit around. She's going to be aiming to level in preparation for the floor boss, do the quests, and help anyone who needs it out.

There's really nothing important AU since she kind of just. Joined the game to play with her friends in the beginning. So there's nothing much there.

In the AU he was badly betrayed by his old guild leader in another game, and PKed pretty badly after his guild leader claimed he PKed him first (big lie). So Gig gave them the worst PK around in retaliation, and closed off himself to others 8').
«Plans for character(s)» Ollie-ing outtie as soon as he can to train and level - alone!! Gotta' be the strongest, gotta' protect ourselves. Gig doesn't believe in the whole 'actually dying' thing, and will fight it as much as he can. He just wants to be the strongest and not have to worry about anyone betraying him, or even having to make friends with people.
«CR you would like» Anythiiiing. Of course, with a player who may be PKing I definitely will be getting some massive CR for this douche. But of course there is also the chance for CR with people who want to find out what his deal is and maybe he'll warm up to them a bit. «Personality/AU Information» Just a super energetic girl who enjoy playing a joke and pranks on other people! She's the type who purposely annoys other people for laughs, but she also has her limits and tries not to go overboard… But she sometime unfortunately realizes it too late as well, so... Humor is pretty much her coping mechanism though so considering the circumstances; she'll be forcing herself to be extra cheerful here.

There's nothing noteworthy about her AU background, I think. It's basically the same in canon; just before any of the routes occurred! She has played some MMORPGs before, but she wasn't a Beta-tester, so this would be her first time playing SAO. Otherwise, that should be it.

«Personality/AU Information» A nice girl who's polite and helpful! If you're in trouble or need any kind of help, she'll be sure to do whatever she can to help out somehow. While she's a bit reserved at first, she's actually pretty friendly and sociable, just with some issues about her responsibilities back in real life.

As for AU, her background is still somewhat similar to her canon; that is, she's a princess of a super minor (and fictional) kingdom in Europe! Which she still has issues about and why she's going to try her best to hide that fact even though she's stuck here. She tends to wear a wig + make up and stay in the background whenever she has to make the rare public appearances back in the real world, but considering the mass media existence in this world, it's probably not too hard to connect the dots! So feel free to recognize her as well, she'll just deal with it ICly.
«Plans for character(s)» After taking some time to accept what's going on, she's going to try leveling up and works on clearing the game as soon as possible! At the same time, she'll also try to distract herself from what's probably happening IRL by just focusing on what she can to help anyone who needs it.

«Personality/AU Information» For his AU, Soma is that typical rich kid who doesn't know how to interact well with others, and has father issues. He's not the talkative type, and may have temper issues. But he's just being tsun a good guy deep, deep down. And it's thanks to his close friends that he got into video games.

He's also pretty hard to get along with at first. But he makes up for it by being a loyal and protective friend. Sometimes, a bit too over protective though. He'll often times prioritize their safety over his own.

He's got some pretty odd quirks, but the biggest one would be his preference to weird tasting beverages like Curry flavored ramune.

«Plans for character(s)» Soma will be sticking close to Hyunlee for the most part. The two will most likely be off doing quests just to gain some items and money. Though, they don't get very far since Soma keeps screwing up on most of his. (It turns into a grind fest more than anything.) They'll end up camping out instead of rooming in hotels like normal people. That's how manly men, and Hyunlee, do things.

Though he starts off pretty much inseparable from "Leader", eventually, he'll break off and start his solo career. Soma will pretty much be focusing on training and clearing floors. But he'll be watching over his friends, because somebody needs to take care of those reckless idiots. Or it could be the other way around—

«Personality/AU Information» A studious, creative-minded Korean! Yulin, or in-game as "Hyunlee," is a friendly neighbor type. Even though he likes to study and work hard, he's not the type of bookworm that's shy or reclusive. In fact, he's very open to making friends and is very often with a bright face. He's a good guy to approach if anyone needs advice or assistance in general.

In canon, he's amnesiac due to a monster attack that wiped out his entire family. But here, he's been hit by a car (driven by Soma) during one rainy night. /insert dramatic otome game music here. In real life, he's skilled with crafting (making clothes/accessories, etc.) as well as a good cook.

«Plans for character(s)» Hyunlee is Soma's (assaulter) traveling partner, but he's not opposed to partying with others. After getting a few useful attack skills, he'll be focusing on supportive/extra skills first (in order to aid Soma and himself better), so he'll eventually be a good crafter/cook as well in-game! He'll go wherever Soma goes.

With his focus on the miscellaneous skills, Hyunlee will pretty much be a common face in the market and auction. He will be able to craft custom weapons or armor (to anyone interested) and he'll sell them (as well as food and materials) on the auction. If anyone befriends him close enough, he'll even repair stuff for free. Otherwise, sorry, he's charging for those services—

Rinoa's rich, but extremly outgoing and friendly. I just about her being "The girl next door if the girl next door was rich and couldn't make apple pie to save her life" which.... mixes aspects from both Soma and Hyunlee.
